Coastal Fragments - 36x36
Fragments of shoreline and memory coalesce in this mixed-media panel, where ceramic shards catch the light like tumbled shells against a matte expanse. Black iron oxide traces the tide’s shadow, its rich, earthy depth suggesting basalt cliffs and the fossilized lines of time. Layers of acrylic paint—muted sands, seafoam grays, and the palest washes of sky—create a slow, tidal movement across the board, while the ceramic elements introduce a tactile, ancient geometry that interrupts the plane with quiet resonance. The work evokes the solitude and raw harmony of remote beaches: stripped-back, wind-burnished, and full of small, unexpected treasures.
