Life inspires art
What I choose to create is guided less by a fixed plan and more by a quiet conversation between myself, my materials, and the natural world around me. I draw constant inspiration from nature—its textures, movement, and imperfections—and from the simple joy of working with my hands.
Whether I’m at the potter’s wheel, holding a brush, layering clay and paint, or incorporating fragments of broken pottery, I let the materials speak and lead the process.
I grew up creating in several mediums, eventually my BA degree was in Craft Design from ISU in Ames, Iowa. Exploring metal, wood, fibers, painting and ceramics, I settled on ceramics as my emphasis.
Moving to Austin in 2011 allowed me to open a small painting gallery (2014-15) eventually to study ceramics further at Laguna Gloria (2017-18) with Mike Grafa, professional potter. Currently, I practice in a dedicated ceramic and paint studio in my home in Cedar Park, TX.
My artistic voice continues to evolve year to year, and I embrace that change by giving myself permission to explore new materials and ideas, to play, and to follow curiosity wherever it leads.
